Scholarships Description: Research studentships are offered to students wishing to undertake a PhD programme. All studentships are highly competitive and you should ensure (and demonstrate) that there is a good match between your own qualifications and interests and those being sought for the particular studentship. Applications are invited for studentships within any of the 5 Centres of the Research Institute. Economics and Management, Law, Ethics and Society, Politics, International Relations and Environment, Psychological Research, Social Policy. In order to be considered for funding you must complete an application form for PhD study quoting reference RISS 2011/12, suggesting why you should receive an award (please include this information in the ‘personal statement’ section of the form).
Your application can only be considered on the basis of the information we have received. It is your responsibility to ensure that your application is submitted before the deadline and includes ALL of the following: The relevant application form, Names of two academic references, A full proposal for your PhD project (maximum four sides of A4. This should set out research questions to be addressed, proposed methodology, a summary of current literature etc), A sample of your previous academic work (maximum 5,000 words)
