modeling runoff subgrid distributed hydrological model.
The summary of the research project
modeling sub-grid hydrology in the flow based surface physics,
spatially distributed model is currently based on the use of effective parameters
that can not properly capture the surface runoff sub-grid connectivity. A
connectivity function promises à ¢ â, ¬ â € œ relative contribution of the surface function (RSC)
(Antoine et al, 2009.) – Recently developed and tested on a scale of 1 mA, Â ²
which increases the production of runoff modeling subgrid. This project aims to
further integration of the sub-grid connectivity in a distributed space
hydrological models and to test the scale dependence of RSC functions and businesses
rate of change of contrast from the initial state. This will involve
combination of field / laboratory and numerical experiments.
The Institution

USA College Scholarships The Sustainability Science Program at Harvard University
College Scholarships The Sustainability Science Program at Harvard University’s Center for International Development invites applications for resident fellowships in sustainability science for the University’s academic year beginning in September 2011.
Job Description:The fellowship competition is open to advanced doctoral and post-doctoral students, and to mid-career professionals engaged in research or practice to facilitate the design, implementation, and evaluation of effective interventions that promote sustainable development.
Applicants should describe how their work would contribute to “sustainability science,” the emerging field of use-inspired research seeking understanding of the interactions between human and environmental systems as well as the application of such knowledge to sustainability challenges relating to advancing development of agriculture, habitation, energy and materials, health and water while conserving the earth’s life support systems.
Citizens of Italy or developing countries are especially encouraged to apply.
This year some preference will be given to applicants whose work addresses challenges of innovation for sustainable development, with special attention to innovation in the energy, health and agricultural sectors. In addition to general funds available to support this fellowship offering, special funding for the Giorgio Ruffolo Fellowships in Sustainability Science is available to support citizens of Italy or developing countries who are therefore especially encouraged to apply.
The Sustainability Science Program is directed by Professors William Clark and Michael Kremer, and Nancy Dickson. For more information on the fellowships application process see www.cid.harvard.edu/sustsci
USA International Scholarships Applications are due on 1 December 2010.

Applicants should have completed their postdoctoral training, should have a in permanent position, and, upon completion of the Fellowship, the candidate should return to employment with his/her laboratory of origin. If this is not the case, he/she must prove that there is a continued on-going scientific affiliation with the former laboratory, as this ensures that the relationships established during the fellowship are put to beneficial use.
Scientists already holding a position in a foreign laboratory are not eligible to apply to remain in that laboratory.
A candidate who has already been the recipient of a CRP Fellowship may apply for a second award, but only 5 years after the year of their first Fellowship.
Criteria for selection:
-The promise of a relevant contribution to the achievement of the aims of the Programme
- Relevance to the Theme objective – the extent to which the proposed project addresses the objectives of the work programme and its relevance to the theme objective
- Scientific excellence – the need for clearly defined and focussed objectives, and the promise of innovative outcomes which can be achieved within the planned study
- The feasibility of achieving the goals set in the proposed work
- The scientific records and achievements of the applicant – judged for example by contributions to science and the scientific literature published
- Crossing disciplines – the extent to which the proposed study involves interactions between scientific disciplines, and a readiness to engage with those beyond the research community to explore wider societal implications?
