Eligibility:
- Higher Degree in the Geographical, Earth, Ocean or Environmental Sciences.
- Successfully completed MSc/PhD (preference will be given to candidates who have recently completed a PhD thesis)
-Some practical experience of the methods of applied palaeoceanography (micropalaeontology in particular) are essential
-A clear communicator, well-organized, research-focussed yet willing to take on a research support role.



International Scholarships for International Students: No

College Scholarships Description: A Research Assistant is required to support and develop new project initiatives to investigate North Atlantic palaeoceanography on a range of time scales, with a particular emphasis on advancing our understanding of the marine radiocarbon method and/or marine tephrochronology (both currently NERC funded). In addition, you will support Dr William Austin (Head of Department) in the management of his laboratory and research team, which currently includes 3 Research Assistants, 4 PhD students, occasional visiting researchers and project students.
